The 2025 U.S. Poker Open has crowned its newest champion, with Shannon Shorr topping the leaderboard to win the Golden Eagle trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport.

Shorr topped the 76-entrant field in Event #5: $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em to win $220,400, and followed that a few days later by topping the 73-entrant field in Event #8: $25,200 No-Limit Hold'em to win $529,250.

According to The Hendon Mob, Shorr has amassed more than $15,660,000 in lifetime tournament earnings and now sits 85th on the All-Time Money List. He has amassed $3,427,350 in career PGT earnings, which ranks him 80th on the PGT All-Time Money List.

After mixed games and Omaha dominated the PokerGO Studio the past month, No-Limit Hold'em returned with the seventh edition of the U.S. Poker Open. The series opened with Kristen Foxen winning her third PGT title of the season, and fourth of her career, as she topped the 129-entrant field to win $158,025. Kazuomi Furuse was a newcomer to the PGT, but took home the Event #2 for his largest career score of $275,400.

Michael Rossitto won Event #3 to claim his first PGT title, while Matthew Wantman won his fourth career PGT title when he topped the 103-entrant Event #4 field. Shannon Shorr won his fifth career PGT title and claimed his third victory of 2025. He defeated Eric Blair in heads-up play, who tied the record held by Rodger Johnson at the 2024 U.S. Poker Open by cashing in five consecutive events at a PGT series. Blair also vaulted to the top of the PGT leaderboard on the back of his fifth consecutive cash.

The record-breaking field of 98 entrants in Event #6 would see Brandon Wilson deny Wantman a second series title. Wilson won his third career PGT title, while Wantman moved to the top of the U.S. Poker Open leaderboard. Alex Foxen won his ninth career PGT title in Event #7, and also moved to second on the PGT leaderboard.

The series finale came down to the wire as both Shorr and Nacho Barbero began their heads-up match nearly even in chips and battling over not just the $529,250 first-place prize, but also the title of U.S. Poker Open champion. The winner would be awarded the mammoth Golden Eagle trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport, and it was Shorr emerging victorious to win his second PGT title of the 2025 PGT season, his fourth PGT title of 2025.
